About the upcoming Eastern General Hospital

About Eastern General Hospital
Eastern General Hospital (EGH) is an upcoming acute hospital under SingHealth with about 1,000 beds which offers emergency, inpatient and outpatient services across a comprehensive range of clinical specialties. Powered by innovation and smart technologies to deliver person-centred care, we will begin serving patients virtually in 2026 before our physical campus is completed in 2029-2030.
EGH will be located next to the Bedok North MRT station (Downtown Line), bounded by Bedok Reservoir Road and Bedok North Road.

EGH is part of the larger EGH Campus, consisting of EGH and an integrated community hospital – the Eastern Community Hospital (ECH).
Eastern Community Hospital
Run by SingHealth Community Hospitals, ECH will provide continuing care, rehabilitative care and palliative care services. Together, EGH and ECH aim to help patients get well and seamlessly re-integrate back home, as well as empower the community to better manage their health.
Dynamic, expert clinical team
Although we are an up-and-coming hospital, we are no new kid on the block. Our hospital is led by an experienced and highly skilled multidisciplinary healthcare team, including clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals and healthcare administrators. Many of them come from established SingHealth institutions and bring with them deep expertise and experience in their fields.
EGH also leverages the One SingHealth network to deliver specialty services to our patients and the community This is made possible through collaborations with National Cancer Centre Singapore, National Dental Centre Singapore, National Heart Centre Singapore, National Neuroscience Institute and Singapore National Eye Centre.
EGH Healthcare Living Laboratory
As we build our hospital, we have set up the EGH Healthcare Living Laboratory (HLL), a first-of-its-kind collaborative workspace used to mock-up hospital spaces for infrastructure planning, as well as design and trial new healthcare innovations. The three-storey facility, situated next to the EGH site, houses a Design & Experiential Centre and Engineering Design Unit to facilitate infrastructure innovation and spatial planning. It also serves as a site office for our team as we construct the campus.
